Biden Says 'Cory Should Apologize', and Booker Says 'Never'

  • Joe Biden makes bold claim about his prospects in GA if he wins Democratic nomination

Well, guess what? If we can't reach a consensus in our system, what happens?

As vice president, he helped president Barack Obama negotiate the 2015 agreement between Iran and world powers that imposed curbs on its nuclear program, blocking its path to an atomic weapon.

Biden spoke to Catsimatidis, who has an estimated net worth of $3.1 billion, for about 10 minutes at a fundraiser held at the NY home of short seller Jim Chanos, according to the businessman.

In comments at a Wall Street fundraising event at New York's Carlyle Hotel on Monday, Biden cited the late senators James O Eastland of MS and Herman E Talmadge of Georgia as two senators with whom he disagreed, but still worked with and "got things done". The former vice president referenced two leading segregationists he worked with back in there 1970s: Senators James O. Eastland (D-Miss.) and Herman E. Talmadge (D-Ga.), The Washington Post reported.

"I know the new New Left tells me that I'm - this is old-fashioned", he said earlier. Cory Booker (D-N.J.) should apologize to him for questioning his commitment to civil rights.

But Sanders himself says the tweet wasn't a dig, at least not at Warren.

"We didn't agree on much of anything", Biden said of the two men, who were prominent senators when Biden was elected in 1972. (That reads like a sentence I might get to use again.) Under normal circumstances, in a normal campaign, this week might have finished him off before the race even starts. "What other frightful stuff did you manage to build consensus on?" "Not the opposition, the enemy", he added.

"Trump forgot to talk about the gun crisis that we have in this country and the mass killings that we see and the 40000 people a year that die as a result of guns", Sanders said. Since there is no shared understanding of political reality right now - it got "disrupted", and I don't need to explain how or by whom - that's a problem.

Invoking Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders's goal of political "revolution", Biden suggested that he would be the antidote by making marginal changes that would improve the lives of working and middle class Americans without slapping onerous taxes on the rich. I think she's running a good campaign. And I walked into the Senate dining room when we were trying to wind down everything.

Eight women have alleged that Biden either touched them inappropriately or violated their personal space in ways that made them uncomfortable.

Taylor Swift Music Video Takes Shots at People Who Oppose LGBTQ Lifestyle
And...well...let's just say they are definitely stereotypes and not quite the nuanced character you might hope to see. This week went pretty well for Taylor Swift (and her fans).

"I could not have disagreed with Jim Eastland more".

He never called me "boy". "That's all I'm going to say about it".

"So we're just saying, you make it really big in this country, pitch in two cents so everybody else has a chance to make it in this country", she added. Biden, for his part, keeps digging in further and further.

But amid a firestorm of criticism, the ex-US vice-president said he had "detested" the views of late senators who favoured separating the races.

He wasn't the only Democratic candidate to criticize Biden's remarks.

"You don't joke about calling black men 'boys.' Men like [Sen.] James O. Eastland [(D-Miss.)] used words like that, and the racist policies that accompanied them, to perpetuate white supremacy and strip black Americans of our very humanity", Booker said.

Booker's comments came after Biden cited his relationships with former U.S. Sens. "Joe Biden seems to have tremendous support in the African American community. He should", Booker continued. "Eastland thought my multiracial family should be illegal". It's past time for apologies or evolution from @JoeBiden.

"The Drive-By Media is going to determine who the Democrat Party nominee is".

This is a developing story.
