A lucky Mega Millions player in SoCal woke up a lot richer Saturday morning.

A lucky lottery player in California was the sole victor of the $530 million Mega Millions jackpot for the drawing held on June 7.

The Mega Millions jackpot is more than half a billion dollars. Each matched five numbers but not the Mega Ball.

The latest Mega Millions jackpot began growing after a $50 million payout was won with a ticket purchased in Kansas City, Missouri, on March 12, according to theMega Millions website. A player wins the jackpot by matching all six winning numbers in a drawing.

The winning ticket was sold at Sorrento Deli Mart, located a short walk from the famous Torrey Pines Golf Course. After changing the number of balls drawn, the odds of winning the jackpot has gone from 1 in about 258 million to 1 in roughly 302 million.

The last jackpot victor took home $50 million in Missouri back in March of 2019, while over a million other players won smaller prizes ranging from just $2 to a whopping $20,000 thanks to the Mega Millions Megaplier.
