Combine this with an active community that has a say in everything OnePlus produces, and Lau feels confident that the TV will be a success. The smart television could be the first of many steps towards building an ecosystem to take on companies like Xiaomi. OnePlus Founder and CEO, Pete Lau, will lead the new division alongside the existing smartphone division. He also revealed that with the OnePlus TV, the company is looking forward to offer "image quality and audio experience to more seamlessly connect the home". Pete Lau explained how we go through four major experiences each day; home, workplace, commute and being on-the-move.

"We want to bring the home environment to the next level of intelligent connectivity", he said. After building a reputation around stylish, well-equipped, unlocked phones for cheap, the company achieved profitability on more than $1 billion in revenue past year, and recently earned the backing of T-Mobile for its first US carrier deal. Currently, the company is taking feedback from its users on what to include in its new portfolio. At the very least, you can bet there will be a large focus on the underlying OS and smart capabilities. The company revealed it's plan for launching this new product through a dedicated post on its OnePlus forums.

India's smart TV is estimated to grow at a CAGR of 30.2 percent during 2018-24. Along with this, Lau envisions smart television as an extension of smartphones and artificial intelligence which is why their TV will adopt the AI smarts from Amazon or Google. He's written a post asking the OnePlus community to help name the upcoming telly.

Trump declares state of emergency in both Carolinas as Hurricane Florence nears
That's because the longer this slow-moving hurricane hovers over land, the more rain it'll dump in the same places. All three states have already declared states of emergency and 1.5 million people have been told to evacuate.

Furthermore, OnePlus stated that it would continue to apply its well-known user-centric and design philosophy across its television division. Since Pete mentioned 5G connectivity and smarter AI integration, there could be a chance that the smart TV will offer faster connections and will work effortlessly with OnePlus phones, similar to the integration between Apple's iOS ecosystem. The OnePlus TV is going to be smart, but his vision is to evolve the typical smart TVs and make them better connected to smartphones.

Lau also said the TV will have a built-in camera, although tried to allay the usual privacy fears: "We have this in mind, and we will have a solution". This also makes it clear that OnePlus TV is expected later this year or early 2019. Could we see a One Plus 8K TV?
