"Judge Kavanaugh and the White House both stand by that statement", said spokeswoman Kerri Kupec.
In the Washington Post interview, Ford said that when she tried to scream, Kavanaugh put his hand over her mouth.
She contacted the Post through a tip line in early July, when it had become clear that Kavanaugh was on the shortlist of possible nominees to replace retiring justice Anthony Kennedy but before Trump announced his name publicly.
In morning television interviews, Katz said her client was willing to tell her story in public to the Judiciary panel, although no lawmakers or their aides had yet contacted her. Katz also denied that Ford, a Democrat, is politically motivated.
Asked for a response to Ford's detailed allegations, White House deputy press secretary Raj Shah offered CNN the same denial Kavanaugh issued previously.
"It's disturbing that these uncorroborated allegations from more than 35 years ago, during high school, would surface on the eve of a committee vote", Senate Judiciary Committee Republicans said in a statement Sunday. Mr Kavanaugh and his friend were both drunk, she says.
On NBC's "Today", Katz defended Ford's initial decision to stay anonymous and then to come forward. "He was trying to attack me and remove my clothing".
Kavanaugh also visited the White House on Monday, amid questions about whether the committee might proceed or not with a vote scheduled for Thursday.
Senator Diane Feinstein, the top Judiciary Committee Democrat, called for a delay, saying the FBI should conduct an investigation before the Senate moves forward on the nominee.
Ford said she was able to escape when Kavanaugh's friend, Mark Judge, jumped on the bed, sending all three tumbling off the bed.
A lawyer close to the White House said the nomination will not be withdrawn.
Trump Jr has yet to comment on the post following the identification of Ford.
Kavanaugh's nomination by US President Donald Trump has divided the Senate, with most Democrats opposing him and most Republicans supporting him.
He is "a man of character and integrity" who has been widely lauded by other women, she said. "I have, however, referred the matter to federal investigative authorities", Feinstein said in a statement Thursday. Another therapy session the following year includes the charge that Ford underwent a "rape attempt" in "her late teens", but she was allegedly 15 - not late teens - when this incident occurred.
According to media reports, a woman sent a letter to Democrats alleging sexual misconduct on the part of Kavanaugh while he was in high school. "I did not do this back in high school or at any time", he said.
Republicans say the allegations have already cast a shadow over Kavanaugh but that it does not appear to be enough to change the votes in the narrowly divided 51-49 Senate. She said she often spent time in the summer at the Columbia Country Club pool in Chevy Chase, where in those pre-cellphone days, teenagers learned about gatherings via word of mouth. "She believes that if it were not for the severe intoxication of Kavanaugh, she would have been raped".
Fellow Republican panel member Jeff Flake has urged the committee to delay its vote until it hears from Ms Ford while another committee Republican, Lindsey Graham, welcomed hearing from Ms Ford but said it should "be done immediately so the process can continue as scheduled".
It is unclear if Trump Jr was aware at the time that Ford, a psychology professor at Palo Alto University in California, would make her identity known the next day in the Washington Post.
She said if anyone was going to tell her story, she wanted to be the one to tell it.
As to whether Republicans knew about the allegation in advance and had the letter from the 65 Kavanaugh high school contemporaries "in the can", Grassley's office said no.
Mrs Ford said she spoke of the alleged attack a couple of times over the subsequent decades.
Republican Bob Corker also said delaying the vote "would be best for all involved".
