  • Nintendo is rolling out its Switch Online service next week

The long-awaited start of the online service for Nintendo's hybrid console is set in stone.

Switch Online is the Nintendo's unimaginatively-named subscription-based online service.

We already know some of the titles that were scheduled to be shown, like Civilization 6 and the new Yoshi game. Every classic NES game will support voice chat via the Nintendo Switch Online smartphone app.

You may have received an email from Nintendo regarding your Switch account settings, but just in case you haven't yet, we've got you covered. The Switch eShop will not be available for "up to 3 hours".

Harry Kane: ref 'bottled it' as England lose to Spain
Welbeck's effort was disallowed for what was bizarrely deemed a foul on goalkeeper David De Gea . Playing at Leeds before the World Cup was one of my favourite memories of the summer.

"Friends can even watch each other play single-player games online, and "pass the controller" at any time".

Why it matters: Nintendo is late to the online party and while it might not be as feature-packed as the competition, at least that is reflected in its price point.

After reiterating a bunch of info about Nintendo Switch Online, Nintendo showed off a brand new gamepad for the Switch. There's also a family membership option which costs $34.99 per year and allows up to 8 accounts to be connected.

The Nintendo Direct that was postponed last week will instead take place tomorrow, September 13, at 11pm BST, Nintendo said this morning.
