Gov. Andrew Cuomo cast his ballot in Mount Kisco in Thursday's primary race, which has him facing "Sex and the City" actress Cynthia Nixon.

Voters in NY reported a number of problems at polling locations during the state's primary on Thursday.

Approved and paid for by the New York State Democratic Committee, the mailer accused Nixon of remaining "silent on the rise of anti-Semitism", and supporting BDS (Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions), a worldwide movement to boycott Israeli goods and cultural exports.

Ms. Nixon gained fame in her role as Miranda Hobbes in HBO's "Sex and the City" and on Broadway has won two Tony Awards, including one a year ago.

Surveys show Cuomo is far ahead, but Nixon says the polls shouldn't be trusted. Politico's Laura Nahmias joins CBSN with more. And despite Nixon's efforts, polls showed several key Democratic voting blocs remained loyal to the incumbent, including African-Americans, young voters and women. Cuomo has also called it a mistake.

Making a pit stop at the Upper West Side eatery on Sunday while on the campaign trail, Cynthia Nixon ordered a cinnamon raisin bagel with lox and capers.

Nixon would likely need a surge in voting activity in a state generally known for low turnout, especially in primaries, to win.

While he seldom mentions her name, Cuomo has taken her seriously as a political threat.

The victor of the primary will face Republican Dutchess County Executive Marc Molinaro, Green Party candidate Howie Hawkins and former Syracuse Mayor Stephanie Miner, an independent, in the November general election. He was endorsed by establishment figures in the Democratic Party, including former Vice President Joe Biden and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, as well as most of the state's labor unions.

Meanwhile, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio's son, Dante de Blasio, was also among those who found themselves not on the rolls, the mayor said.

"[Nixon] needs to be able to pressure the state legislature in stuff but I don't believe she has enough connections upstate".

Nixon, 52, has touted herself as a democratic socialist and a champion of causes such as abortion access, better funding for schools and equal rights for gay and lesbian people.

In an interview with Reuters last week, Nixon said: "I feel people are going to be very surprised on Thursday", and cited victories she felt her campaign had already scored.

Nixon's platform is built on issues of housing affordability, universal healthcare, and criminal justice reform.
