Demi Lovato has reportedly been hospitalized in Los Angeles due to an apparent drug overdose.

Singer Missy Elliott wrote, "You just never know what people are going through so please have compassion & no jokes", she said.

Lovato's fans also came together in light of her hospitalization, using #PrayForDemi and #StayStrongDemi.

A few hours after the scary news broke, her rep confirmed that she was awake and with her family and explained that although some of the reports out there about Demi's incident are incorrect, the main thing they're all focusing on is getting her healthy.

The representative didn't give details on what led to Lovato's hospitalization.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Los Angeles police responded to a call at 11.39am local time on Tuesday to a home in the Hollywood Hills for a female suffering from a possible overdose.

Lovato has been candid about her struggles with substance abuse, mental health and eating disorders. "I'm so sorry, I'm not sober anymore". TMZ reports she had been sober from cocaine for 6 years.

The singer had recently released "Sober", which lyrics reveal she had fallen off the wagon.

When "Extra" caught up with Demi at an event in NYC in March 2017, she opened up about her sobriety.

Her concert in Atlantic City, scheduled for this Thursday, has been cancelled, Variety reports.
