  • Apple hits hard on privacy, Memoji in new iOS update

Less than 24 hours before Apple's conference, the New York Times reported that Facebook's data-sharing partnerships with device makers, including Apple, were still in effect despite Facebook's claim that they'd cut off such data sharing in 2015.

Apple's major WWDC 2018 event took place yesterday in California with the blockbuster upgrade bringing a swathe of new features to your iPhone and iPad.

SYDELL: Well, he doesn't deny that Apple may very well have had access to this information, but he says they would have no reason to use it.

"Parents can access their child's Activity Report right from their own iOS devices to understand where their child spends their time and can manage and set App Limits for them", said Apple. The new feature allows users to set time limits for using certain apps. Current CEO Tim Cook strengthened that belief, telling CNN on Monday that the company still values that privacy. He said that the deal is merely for user-convenience and that they have never been in the data business. Parents will also be able to monitor and limit the device usage for their children. The changes are not Apple's most expansive in the privacy space, simply an evolution.

An official release date has not been confirmed but, judging by previous releases, we can reasonably expect iOS 12 to come out in September this year. Apple is taking aim at Facebook's Like buttons, Disqus comments widgets and other third-party APIs that can be used for data collection, tracking and ad targeting.

Weather officials said this is from a weak surface front that will be bring west-southwest winds during the launch window. The SES-12 spacecraft was built by Airbus Defence and Space and will deliver high-speed data across Asia and the Pacific.

The move comes as the tech industry faces criticism that it has successfully made its smartphones and apps addictive with little thought for how people's lives may be negatively affected by the distraction of constantly checking their devices.

"Privacy means people know what they're signing up for, in plain English and repeatedly", Jobs said.

Enhanced privacy was part of a slew of improvements touted by Apple to developers, whose creations are key to the popularity of iPhones, iPads and Mac computers.

"I think we are all going to be using Do-Not-Disturb a whole lot more", Federighi said.
