The Miami Heat and Philadelphia 76ers are set for a critical Game 3 in their Eastern Conference first-round playoff series, which will be played at AmericanAirlines Arena in Miami on Thursday night. He also suffered a concussion on March 28 and hasn't played since he had a collision with teammate Markelle Fultz in a game against the New York Knicks. He cleared the NBA's concussion protocol earlier this week and practiced with the Sixers on Tuesday and Wednesday, although he was a limited participant on Wednesday.

"The physical nature of Game 2 - like the snapshot of Heat forward Justise Winslow barking obscenities at Sixers rookie Ben Simmons after drawing a charge - and the way the game ended, with Goran Dragic angering all of Philadelphia with a late layup at the end of a 113-103 win, has Game 3 primed to be a doozy".

Embiid has missed the first two games of the Heat-Sixers series, which is tied 1-1.

"When he is not able to do that he gets frustrated".

Sixers head coach Brett Brown sympathized with Embiid after being told of the IG post, telling reporters the comments are "born out of him wanting to be with his team".

This game had a similar first half as Game 1, but saw more pressure on Philly's shooters from the get-go. "It's born out of competitiveness, it's born out of him wanting to be with his team".

Following Monday's game, and after his profane Instagram story surfaced, Embiid talked to ESPN, showing his uncertainty of playing on Thursday night, that he "may not" play in that game. But I do know the spirit in which he delivers that Tweet. reflects my conversations with him.

There remains no definitive timetable for Embiid's return.

In Embiid's absence, the Sixers performed admirably - the eight-game winning streak with him extended into 17-game one without him. I wish more than anything that I was out there.

Embiid has officially been listed as "doubtful" on the injury report.

During the regular season, the Marshall University product averaged 15.3 points, 9.8 rebounds and 2.8 blocks per game against the 76ers.

Kyle Neubeck of the Philly Voice reports the 76ers are waiting on clearance from the surgical team that performed the operation to fix Embiid's orbital fracture. "Whenever I'm out on the court, I'm just going to play as hard as I can". The veteran made all seven of his shots in Game 2 and finished with 18 points, seven rebounds, five assists, and three steals in a whopping 37 minutes of floor time-which matched his highest total from a regulation game all season long. He said there were no plans of rushing Embiid back onto the court.
