Wilder predicts Ortiz KO, eyes Joshua

03 March, 2018, 06:26 | Author: Manuel Hopkins

If we're honest, it's the same uncertainty that hangs over the division as a whole.

The British promoter was accused of "milking Anthony Joshua dry" last night in a verbal punch by the American.

Promoter Lou DiBella has a huge 12 fight card planned for Brooklyn this Saturday night.

Wilder defends his WBC title against risky Cuban Luis Ortiz in NY tomorrow night.

Instead Joshua takes on Joseph Parker at Cardiff's Principality Stadium on March 31 in a bid to add the New Zealander's WBO belt to his WBA and IBF heavyweight titles. With Wilder being on the cusp of a super fight with Joshua I believe somebody knows somebody who knows something, making it pointless to breakdown the mechanics of both fighters other than to say that as a technician, minus speed, Ortiz is the better fighter with near equal power.

Ortiz, of Cuba, is 38.

The WBC wouldn't allow Wilder to fight Ortiz because Ortiz tested positive for two diuretics - chlorothiazide and hydrochlorothiazide - in a test administered by VADA as part of the WBC's "Clean Boxing Program".

Black Panther Does It Again And Now Approaches Billion Dollar Status
Well this past weekend the film did it again, smashing more records and moving T'Challa and company closer to billionaire status. Surpassing Marvel's Ant-Man and Doctor Strange , Black Panther has earned the title of Marvel's 10th highest grossing film.

But Wilder is not the only big man to reckon with in boxing's glamour division. "We all know that once anybody uses banned substances in any sport, we know that is not their first time taking it". He won a bronze medal at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing and now he's the WBC heavyweight champion.

When Ortiz does manage to get inside of the champ's reach, he will hit and perhaps even hurt Wilder, but that shouldn't be often. Joshua's team however, is showing no indication that a Wilder unification will be next.

It's nearly 40 fights now and I still do what I do, said Wilder. I also expect Wilder to be the more aggressive fighter. I've been saying it for years. It was my mistake not to disclose that prescription drug in the paperwork.

"I'm feeling great, camp has been going great", he said during a recent interview. I'm going to pass this test with flying colours. I drink two gallons of water per day.

"I do consider Luis Ortiz one of the best, and I do consider him as the best technical fighter in the game". If Wilder wins, then no rematch would be guaranteed. It nearly made me lose the love of boxing for a little bit as well too because of certain things and activities that has been known in this sport with these guys avoiding or wanting to get on bad substances when they know they're not supposed to be taking it in the first place.

"We want to see the very best beat the very best, if they want to get to the very top, and I know Joshua does". Here I am standing tall, because of that confidence I have in myself and my abilities. I can't get America to get behind me and say 'Believe in me because I'm this and that, ' and I don't show it.

"The old days are gone, this is the new time and the new generation". They're going to make (Whyte) mandatory sooner or later: he's (ranked) No 1 with the WBC'. "Deontay Wilder is a problem for anyone in the division". "It could be early or a later round, but I will knockout Ortiz, and that is a promise". But that was five fights ago for Ortiz, and the performances which followed have been either uninspiring or too hard to rate because of the quality of his opposition.
