  • Big Little Lies Salaries HBO vs. Apple

A ten-episode, half-hour long comedy series, produced by Reese Witherspoon's media company Hello Sunshine and starring Kristen Wiig, is in the works. The untitled Apple series is reportedly paying each of its two leads $1.55 million per episode, which drove up the price that HBO had to pay to secure their services for season two.

The show is as yet untitled, but it's based on author Curtis Sittenfeld's short-shory collection, "You Think It, I'll Say It", which is coming out in April.

The Kristen Wiig-led series is now untitled but will be a 10-episode half-hour comedy. Colleen McGuinness ("30 Rock") created the series and will be the showrunner. Sources claim that the two actors received $310,000 and $435,000 per season one episode, respectively, as well as executive producer credits and points on the show's back end. It will be a 10-episode series which will mark Wiig's return to the small screen after she left Saturday Night Live in 2012. Hello Sunshine's Lauren Neustadter and Sittenfeld himself will also work as consulting producers on the project.

Duterte defiant, strikes to shut Rappler information web site
Rappler has labelled the government's decision as harassment " pure and simple ". "No one is above the law", he said. Militant legislators condemned the SEC ruling as an "attack against press freedom".

The most interesting paycheck news, though, is what Big Little Lies' biggest stars - Reese Witherspoon and Nicole Kidman - are being paid. She was nominated for a writing Oscar for Bridesmaids (2011).

Big Little Lies has enjoyed breakout success, winning the Primetime Emmy Award and Golden Globe Award for best limited series.

She will next be seen in Richard Linklater's "Where'd You Go, Bernadette", alongside Cate Blanchett and Billy Crudup. The spike comes as a result of price-matching negotiations after Witherspoon signed a new deal with Apple.
