In a rare view inside a White House meeting between President Donald Trump and lawmakers of both parties in Congress, television cameras rolled for nearly an hour as the President urged each side to do all they can to find agreement on how to deal with illegal immigrant "Dreamers" along with tougher border security measures, as Mr. Trump even called on the House and Senate to consider a second phase of legislative action on comprehensive immigration reform.

Asked if Tuesday provided the clarity that lawmakers have been asking for, Lankford said there was still more to be done.

Senate Majority Whip John Cornyn made the point directly to Trump during the meeting, saying that House Speaker Paul Ryan and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell both told the President at a legislative retreat with Republicans over the weekend that only a bill with Trump's support would move forward for a vote.

"Maybe we can do something", Trump said. Lindsey Graham of SC at one point. Bob Goodlatte (R-VA) and Rep. Mike McCaul (R-TX), said they would release a bill on Wednesday that links to DACA to changes in immigration security and new resources for a border wall; it's not clear what those details will be, as the President basically said he would sign whatever compromise the Congress could approve. Republican lawmakers subsequently pointed out that a clean DACA bill would likely not include border security measures. But those issues are commonly thought to only be achievable in a comprehensive immigration deal. The second phase would involve comprehensive immigration reform.

Lawmakers working on a DACA deal have long fought to keep the bill narrow, saying adding more into it would only make it collapse under its own wait.

In the highly unusual, 45-plus-minute negotiations that aired on news networks afterward, a bipartisan group of lawmakers debated whether to enact a two-phased approach to immigration reform, in which the first component resolved the soon-to-be terminated Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program and the second tackles broader reforms to the United States immigration system.

More than 8,750 people have been killed since the coalition intervened, according to the World Health Organization. The Houthi rebels, who are believed to be backed by Iran , stormed Yemen's capital Sanaa in September 2014.

"If you don't have the wall, you don't have security", Trump told the lawmakers. "And if you take it that further step, I'll take the heat, I don't care".

"We're certainly open to talking about a number of other issues when it comes to immigration, but right now this administration is focused on those four things and that negotiation, and not a lot else at this front". I do believe that.

"I really think that a lot of people are going to agree with us now on that subject", he said.

Since Trump chose to end DACA in September, lawmakers have been working to find a deal on the issue.

His comments came during a rare, lengthy public meeting with bipartisan members of Congress.
