Indore: Skipper Rohit Sharma equalled the record for fastest Twenty20 century on Friday to set up India's 88-run series-clinching win over Sri Lanka in the second match.

Ahead of the match here, there had been speculation about Rohit producing something special on this batsman-friendly Holkar Stadium pitch which has witnessed two ODI double centuries, which incidentally were the first doubles in ODIs.

Opners KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma have provided solid start for team India with 50 run partnership for the first wicket. Kusal Perera top-scored with 77 runs while Indian leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal claimed four wickets.

The visitors were dismissed for 172 in pursuit of their 261-run target.

Florida Gas Prices Drop to Lowest Since August: AAA
Florida gas prices average $2.38 on Sunday, 13 cents less than a month ago and 6 cents more than this time previous year . IN was the lone state with prices advancing an average of 3.6 cents per gallon due to price cycling last week Tuesday.

Other batsmen to have scored fastest T20Is internationals are Richard Levi (45 balls), Faf du Plessis and KL Rahul (46 balls) and Aaron Finch/Chris Gayle (47 balls). Meanwhile, Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav will once again look to rattle Lankan batting order. Sri Lanka had scored 260 for six against Kenya at Johannesburg in September 2007.

India's Rohit Sharma scored the joint-fastest century in Twenty20 global cricket when he hammered his way to the landmark from only 35 balls against Sri Lanka in Indore on Friday. During his innings Rahul hit five boundaries and eight sixes. The opening duo added 165 runs in only 12.4 overs, which laid the foundation of a tremendous total.

Indore: Rohit Sharma bludgeoned the Sri Lankan attack with a record-equalling 35-ball century and powered India to a series-sealing 88-run win in the second Twenty20 worldwide here on Friday.

The series win here would mean India will remain unbeaten in bilateral series across formats in the year. Rohit Sharma hit 10 big sixes, followed by KL Rahul who hit 8 sixes and MS Dhoni chipped in with two maximums while Hardik Pandya hit a single six. Noticeably, his 108 of the 118 that Sharma scored came only in boundaries and sixes (12 fours and 10 sixes).
