No matter where you are viewing, NASA says the meteor shower will reach its peak between 7:30 p.m. on December 13 and dawn the morning of December 14, with the most meteors visible from midnight to 4 a.m. on December 14.

Clear skies are forecast for South Florida., since the meteorswill appear to be coming fromthe northeast, and a dark sky, which is hard to find amid South Florida's city lights, will make the meteors easier to see.

When looking at the night sky, the Geminid meteors appear to be falling from the Gemini constellation.

As usual, the photographers of the Tennessee Valley caught the beauty on camera! She wrote: "I saw many, many attractive meteors..."

Here, Dr. Debiprosad Duari, Director, M. P. Birla Planetarium, Kolkata, explains meteors and the Geminid meteor shower.

The Geminids meteor shower will shine brightly tonight with nearly no obscuring moonlight.

Made in Chelsea star Georgia Toffolo has said she can not believe she has been crowned the victor of I'm a Celebrity ... Toffolo was handed her queen of the jungle crown by last year's victor , former Gogglebox star Scarlett Moffatt .

The cause of the meteor shower is the asteroid known as 3200 Phaethon.

But, in reality, that's not where meteor showers come from.

Not only is the shower predicted to be one of the most dazzling shows ever with around 100 meteors per hour, the spectacular display will also be visible from nearly every country in the world. The debris that creates the light show are the remains of comets that have passed through Earth's orbit.

For the Geminids, viewers didn't necessarily have to try and find the radiant constellation in order to see some meteors.

Asteroids are rocky bodies going round the Sun, originating from a region between the orbit of Mars and Jupiter.
