But there were also invitations Hayek had to decline, including taking a shower with him, watching him shower, giving him a massage, and getting naked with another woman.

Salma Hayek became the latest woman to come forward with allegations of sexual harassment and bullying against producer Harvey Weinstein. Hayek writes that at every opportunity, Weinstein tried to set her up for failure, constantly humiliating her during her production, and disparaging her performance (which she later won an Oscar for). She said she denied numerous sexual advances and incurred Weinstein's wrath as a result.

'No to letting a naked friend of his give me a massage. She said, "This was not sexy, but it was the only way I could get through the scene". He "unequivocally denies" any allegations of non-consensual sex. "He told me that the only thing I had going for me was my sex appeal".

She says that she eventually took a tranquilizer and made it through the scene, with filming on the project wrapping up soon after that hard day.

The actress said the request made her uncomfortable.

"It was clear to me he would never let me finish this movie without him having his fantasy one way or another".

However, Hayek says there was a price to pay.

Talking about her earlier years in Hollywood she said it was Harvey who had taken a chance on her, "a nobody".

Hayek said she was forced to jump through countless hoops to complete work, which she described as "her dream project".

Local lawmakers raise money for Salvation Army

'I felt that by now nobody would care about my pain - maybe this was an effect of the many times I was told, especially by Harvey, that I was nobody'.

Hayek starred in her film Frida alongside friend and fellow actress Ashley Judd, the first fearless accuser to come forward in the ongoing Weinstein scandal.

Salma Hayek says that she was harassed and propositioned by Harvey Weinstein for years, with the disgraced exec sexually harassing her for close to a decade.

"All of the sexual allegations as portrayed by Salma are not accurate and others who witnessed the events have a different account of what transpired", Weinstein said in a statement released through his spokeswoman. She was to earn no money as a producer for Frida and only received the minimum Screen Actors Guild scale plus 10 percent. "I think the statistics are self-explanatory- or voices are not welcome", she explained.

Ed Norton, who was Ms. Hayek's boyfriend at the time, [worked with Mr. Weinstein on the rewrite of the script in Mexico] did a brilliant job of rewriting the script and Mr. Weinstein battled the W.G.A.to get him a credit on the film.

'I had to say yes. Weinstein, who is now under investigation for sexual assault in four cities, has denied all allegations of nonconsensual sex.

Frida was eventually nominated for six Academy Awards, including Hayek for best actress.

"Until there is equality in our industry, with men and women having the same value in every aspect of it, our community will continue to be a fertile ground for predators", she added.
