In that suit, Apple said Qualcomm's behavior was akin to "a common patent troll". But it has now revised its answer.

Earlier this year, Qualcomm accused Apple of infringing several patents related to enabling "high performance in a smartphone while extending battery life", and is attempting to get iPhones banned in the United States as a result.

"Apple began seeking those patents years before Qualcomm began seeking the patents it asserts against Apple in this case", the firm wrote in its complaint.

Two unique things about this phone is that it's the first patent by Apple that lists micro-LED as one of the main display type for a foldable iPhone and uses liquid metal in the foldable iPhone's structure.

In its submission, Apple charges that Qualcomm's Snapdragon 820 and 800 processors, which power devices from Samsung and Google's Pixel phones, breach on those patents.

Egyptian security delegation arrives in Gaza for talks
Spokesperson for Palestinian faction says "weapons of resistance" is a red line amid ongoing reconciliation process . Hamas has ruled Gaza, while Abbas's Fatah has controlled autonomous enclaves in the Israeli-occupied West Bank.

Reuters reports that the feature allows the smartphones' processor to draw the minimum power needed at the time by turning off unnecessary cores.

Qualcomm accuses Apple of violating 16 of its patents including power-saving tech and camera autofocus in devices from the iPhone 7 to the new premium iPhone X.

The lawsuits ask for unspecified payments from Apple for the alleged patent infringement and for the court to make Apple stop using those technologies.

This is of course a countersuit, dating back to a lawsuit Qualcomm filed against Apple on exactly the same grounds.

Other lawsuits are pending over patent royalties while Qualcomm also complained to the US International Trade Commission that iPhones imported into the country with Intel chips inside infringe on its rights. In a connected case, Qualcomm charged the contract manufacturers that create Apple's devices, however Apple associated with the team to defend them.
