  • Egypt bombing Sinai

In response to the most recent terror attack on USA soil, in NY on October 31, Trump said that: "We're so politically correct that we're afraid to do anything".

The coordinated attack targeted the al-Rawdah mosque, which is attended mostly by Sufi Muslims.

Hours after the attack, Egypt's military launched air strikes on targets in mountainous areas around Bir al-Abed, security sources and witnesses said.

Blasts from improvised explosive devices caused considerable damage to the mosque, Ahram Online said.

The gunmen had set up "ambush" locations and opened fire on ambulances as they were transporting wounded worshippers to al-Arish before the arrival of security services, eyewitnesses reported.

Dozens of bloodied bodies wrapped up in sheets were laid across the mosque floor, according to images circulating on social media.

Most of the attacks, which recently expanded the city and some other cities, have been claimed by the Islamic State branch in Sinai. Some victims were also killed by the explosions.

In a televised speech responding to the mosque bombing in Al-Arish that left 235 people dead, President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi vowed to retaliate with "brute force" against perpetrators. Our strength & resolve will overpower their extremist ideology.

The border was scheduled to reopen for three days to allow travel from both sides, the agency said.

Sisi met with several of his top ministers, according to the Ministry of Interior Facebook page.

"I am disgusted by the evil attack that killed & injured so many Egyptians in Sinai today".

No group immediately claimed responsibility for the attack in Egypt, but since 2013 security forces there have battled a stubborn ISIS affiliate in the mainly desert region of Sinai.

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas also strongly denounced the terror attack, voicing his solidarity with Egypt.

Leaders around the world condemned the mosque attack.

"The world can not tolerate terrorism, we must defeat them militarily and discredit the extremist ideology that forms the basis of their existence", he added.

UK Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson said he was deeply saddened by the "abhorrent attack".

UK Prime Minister Theresa May: Appalled by the sickening attack on a mosque in North Sinai.

The terror attack has drawn widespread local and global condemnation as cowardly act of terrorism.

"In this hour of tragedy, the government and the people of India stand by the government and the people of Egypt", he said.
