Scotland Yard has launched an investigation into a second alleged sexual assault by Kevin Spacey that took place in London, this time dating back to 2005, Variety has learned.

It's unclear if Scotland Yard's investigation relates to one of these complaints.

Police had already begun investigating an alleged assault on a young man that took place in 2008 in the London borough of Lambeth, where Spacey had a residence.

Spacey worked as the Old Vic's artistic director from 2004 to 2014.

"On Friday, 17 November, a further allegation was made about the same man" suspected in the 2008 case, the Yard said in a statement Wednesday.

"The allegations are of sexual assaults against a man in 2005 in Lambeth".

The allegation was made just a day after the Old Vic released results of its own internal investigation into the matter.

She suggested that she believes the Trump campaign colluded with the Russians, something Special Counsel Robert Mueller's team has been investigating but the president has flatly denied.

Cavazos alleged that Spacey approached him in "unpleasant encounters" which he said he would have termed "harassment" if he were a woman.

The Old Vic apologised "for not creating an environment or culture where people felt able to speak freely".

This allegation was brought to the attention of police last Friday.

The scandal has cost the embattled actor his role as controversial politician Frank Underwood on Netflix show House of Cards, and he has been edited out of Ridley Scott's new movie All the Money in the World.

Kate Varah, the Old Vic's executive director, issued an apology on November 16 to the alleged victims.

Another man, who did not reveal his name, told the BBC he was left traumatised after waking to find Spacey lying on him, in his underwear, with his arms wrapped around him.
