Jude Law Joins The Increasingly Awesome-Sounding CAPTAIN MARVEL

  • Jude Law to Star Opposite Brie Larson in Captain Marvel

Law has been confirmed for the role of Doctor Walter Lawson, a.k.a. Mar-Vell, which is said to be a mentor of sorts to Larson's Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel as she tries to figure out her newly discovered powers. It's actually Jude Law, who is set to star as a young Albus Dumbledore in Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald.

That journey will be Brie Larson's in-road into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, before her inevitable appearance in Joe and Anthony Russo's super-sized (and untitled) Avengers 4.

Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck (Half Nelson) are directing Captain Marvel with Kevin Feige producing for the studio. Law is now filming "Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindewald" as a young Albus Dumbledore. The film will co-star Ben Mendelsohn as the villain.

Marvel star Samuel L. Jackson is also expected to appear in the film to reprise his role as Nick Fury along with Larson and (possibly) Law. It's also thought that Law will return as Mr. Watson in the third Sherlock Holmes movie with Robert Downey, Jr, although there have been few developments on the continuation of that franchise (which is produced by Fantastic Beasts' Lionel Wigram).

Country music legend Mel Tillis dead at 85
In 2011, Tillis was named a National Medal of Arts recipient for his contributions to country music, the Tennessean reported. He also briefly co-hosted an ABC prime-time series, " Mel and Susan Together", with supermodel Susan Anton in 1978.

Captain Marvel is set for release March 6, 2019.

So, what do you think of the Jude Law Captain Marvel casting?

Mar-Vell is an alien from a race known as the Kree, a people previously alluded to on-screen in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy and Agents of SHIELD.
