  • 50 killed in Nigeria mosque bomb attack

"The bomber was about 17 years old", he added later.

Police say the young bomber was mingling with worshippers in the town of Mubi when he detonated his explosives.

At least 45 people were killed in a suicide bomb attack in the same state last December.

"Already, the injured have been rushed to hospitals".

It has killed more than 20,000 and forced around 2 million people to flee their homes.

They gave lower death tolls but both said the number killed was likely to rise.

Mubi is located in the northeastern region of Adamawa, which lies next to neighboring Borno states, where the jihadi group Boko Haram is based.

Trump tells Clinton to run again for President 'in three years'
But Clinton recently suggested to Mother Jones that Russian government interference undermined the "legitimacy" of Trump's win. Clinton has said she will not run for office again.

"This is obviously the work of Boko Haram".

The president, while commiserating with families of the several victims, government and people of the state, assured that government would do everything required to secure the state from the deadly menace of Boko Haram.

While Nigeria's military in recent months has flushed Boko Haram from its forest stronghold, President Muhammadu Buhari's claim late previous year that the extremist group had been "crushed" has proven to be premature. During the occupation, the town's name was changed temporarily to Madinatul Islam, or "City of Islam" in Arabic.

Mubi is in Adamawa state where Boko Haram held territory in 2014.

There have been repeated raids and suicide bombings, blamed on Boko Haram remnants pushed out of their camps in the Sambisa Forest.

Ryan Cummings, from security analysts Signal Risk, said the attack suggests Boko Haram "has an active operational presence in Adamawa" and retained the capacity to hit hard.
