The shooting on Thursday at the First United Methodist Church in Tellico Plains, about 45 miles southwest of Knoxville, took place as church elders discussed a local sheriff's "weapons and worship" seminar, following the massacre of 26 people at a rural Texas church this month. Their injuries are said to not be life threatening, and no charges were filed, because WHY WOULD YOU CHARGE AN 80 YEAR OLD IDIOT WITH SHOOTING HIMSELF DURING A GUN CONTROL DISCUSSION?! During a motherfucking gun control discussion. What I will not applaud are the idiots who sully these conversations with idiotic acts, like one of these churchgoing guys in the aforementioned Tennessee church, who ended up busting a cap in himself and his wife while trying to make a point.

But when someone else asked to see the gun, the man pulled it from the holster, said it wasn't loaded and pulled the trigger, he said.

A man spoke up and said he carries his everywhere he goes.

Another person walked up and asked to see the weapon.

None of the women criticizing Bittel, a wealthy commercial real estate developer who became the state party's leader in January, said he inappropriately touched or threatened them. He put the magazine back in and returned the gun to its holster. The bullet struck the palm of the man's hand, hit the left side of his wife's abdomen and exited the right side.

Fall and co-authors drew from a nation-wide register of more than 3.4 million Swedish adults between 40 and 80 years old for their trial.

Mistin said the man may have lost his thumb.

The man, who has not been identified, is not expected to be charged, Tellico Plains Police Chief Russ Parks tells the News Sentinel.

"This was an accident".

But she said he's been so traumatised by the incident that he plans to get rid of his weapons.

"We thank God. I don't know how God's using this but we put it in His hands".
