The Minnesota Vikings are welcoming back quarterback Teddy Bridgewater to their 53-man roster Wednesday. However, now into the second half of the regular season, the Vikings could elect to place him on the injured reserve list, officially ending his season.

Bridgewater has been out since August 28th, 2016 after suffering multiple injuries to his knee.

After being activated from the team's reserve/PUP list, Bridgewater wasn't even limited in his first practice back.

Meanwhile, coach Mike Zimmer announced Case Keenum will make his seventh start of the season for the game at Washington on Sunday. He played only one half of one game since then, on October 9 at Chicago when he hobbled around and took four sacks before Keenum came back in to lead the Vikings to a victory. "So hopefully we'll be able to get him back when he gets healthy".

Kyle Sloter remains the Vikings #3-quarterback.

The Vikings, who lead the NFC North at 6-2, made a decision to shut down Bradford for the rest of the 2017 regular season.

It is unclear if or when the Vikings will turn to Bridgewater.

Bridgewater was a full participant in practice Wednesday and declined comment afterward.

Zimmer said Bridgewater, who has not played in a non-preseason game in 22 months, will dress for the game this week as Keenum's backup.

"He hasn't had training camp", Zimmer said.

Bradford was the stopgap once Bridgewater went down last summer, starting 15 games and throwing for 3,877 yards while completing 71.6 percent of his passing attempts with 20 touchdowns against five interceptions.
