Buccaneers QB Jameis Winston facing 'at least two weeks' out

  • Bucs have few sacks Saints don't allow them

Bucs head coach Dirk Koetter discussed the decision in his weekly, exclusive "Koetter's Korner" interview.

The third-year quarterback sat out the second half of Sunday's 30-10 loss to the New Orleans Saints after being sacked late in the second quarter and landing on the shoulder he initially hurt at Arizona on October 15.

Winston has been dealing with an AC joint sprain and a rear deltoid issue and missed the second half of their loss to the Saints on Sunday after re-aggravating the injury.

The first overall pick in the 2015 draft has made 40 consecutive starts to begin his National Football League career.

The 62-year-old is one of the largest shareholders in Citigroup and also owns stakes in News Corp and Twitter . The crown prince warned earlier this year that anyone guilty of corruption would be punished.

Winston's production has also dropped as the injury lingered. In the game against Arizona, Fitzpatrick went 22-for-32 for 290 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions while replacing Winston.

The Buccaneers will activate QB Ryan Griffin from injured reserve, and he'll back up Fitzpatrick until Winston is cleared for activity.

The Bucs got stomped by the Saints in New Orleans on Sunday afternoon, trailing 30-3 in the third quarter, but after quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick took a shot, a fight broke out on the sidelines.

On Sunday, Winston completed 7-of-13 for 63 yards with no touchdowns or no interceptions.
