The official news might not come as a huge shock to everyone after new judge Prue Leith accidentally let slip this year's victor earlier today.
Sophie said of her win: "It was very surreal, and I hadn't allowed myself to think that I could win it up to that moment in time when they said my name and then the enormity of it hit me".
She wrote: "No one told me judging a #gbbo final would be so emotional".
Prue has since spoken out about her upset regarding the blunder to the Press Association, admitting that she was in a "state" over her mistake.
The new judge of the show sent the accidental tweet earlier today announcing the victor before the show had even aired. I thought that they got it six hours ago.
Leith replaced Mary Berry when she decided not to move to Channel 4.
