Liverpool have sealed a club-record deal to sign midfielder Naby Keita from German side RB Leipzig, although the Guinea worldwide will not officially join the Anfield ranks until July 2018.
The deal will surpass the £35 million club record fee the Merseyside club paid Newcastle to sign Andy Carroll.
It is understood the club is finalising the transfer terms which will see them pay a premium on his £48m release clause.
Liverpool were heavily linked with Keita earlier in the summer but no deal materialised despite a reported bid of £66m.
Leipzig weren't prepared to sell Keita during the current window with Liverpool having a second bid of £66 million rejected last month.
