  • HOUSTON TX- JUNE 30 New York Yankees starting pitcher Bryan Mitchell delivers the pitch in the seventh inning during a MLB baseball game between the Houston Astros and the New York Yankees

Both players were ejected.

In the series opener, the Yankees posted a 4-13 win over the Tigers. Major League Baseball now figures to be busy, too, sorting out likely suspensions that could especially hurt the playoff-contending Yankees.

Tigers reliever Alex Wilson was tossed after hitting NY third baseman Todd Frazier with a pitch in the eighth.

This set off Yankees manager Joe Girardi, who bolted from the road dugout. Shane Greene got five outs to record his fourth save.

Kahnle apparently threw at Cabrera after Tigers pitcher Michael Fulmer plunked Gary Sanchez in the fifth inning. The next inning, Yankees reliever Tommy Kahnle threw behind Cabrera in the first pitch of the slugger's at-bat.

As Cabrera resettled at the plate, words were exchanged between he and Yankees catcher Austin Romine.

The United duo will be looking to extend their flying start to the campaign when the club host Leicester City at Old Trafford on Saturday.

On the ground, Romine got in a few punches to Cabrera's back, which has bothered him all season long.

NY scored three runs the inning after the Cabrera-Romine brawl to tie it at 6-6.

Both benches and bullpens quickly emptied into a scrum around home plate, and Cabrera and Romine were ejected - with Romine screaming at umpire crew chief Dave Duncan before leaving the field.

There were no punches thrown during that altercation, which led to the ejection of Betances and Yankees bench coach Rob Thompson.

Tigers reliever Alex Wilson and Ausmus were ejected in the eighth after Wilson hit Todd Frazier around the thigh with a pitch. The benches cleared for a third time.

According to a tweet from the team's official Twitter account, we know what the Tigers' batting order will look like against the Yankees.
